Dave Watson

Dave has founded and developed successful power generation businesses and led financing for numerous energy and infrastructure projects, both internationally and domestically.

Dave co-founded and served as CEO of EnergySource, developer of the 55 MW Hudson Ranch geothermal power plant in the Salton Sea resource in Southern California, one of the most technically challenging geothermal fields in the world.

Prior to EnergySource, Dave spent nine years as Senior Vice President with Hannon Armstrong, a leading financier of U.S. energy and infrastructure projects, where he closed over $500 million of energy efficiency, IT and infrastructure transactions. Previously, Dave developed and led financing efforts for various independent power projects in emerging markets. At Wartsila Power Development, he originated, developed and arranged financing for the then-largest foreign investment in Honduras, an 80 MW thermal power plant that alleviated the country’s 10-hour per day blackouts. As Senior Vice President at EnergyWorks, a Bechtel-Pacificorp joint venture focused on industrial power plants, Dave established the Brazilian office and drove development of two cogeneration plants for a major Brazilian brewing company. Dave began his career in commercial banking, moving into project finance at the Overseas Private Investment Corp (OPIC), where he was Senior Investment Officer.

Dave earned his BA in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
